Privacy Policy

The short version

Quota collects nothing about you. There is no telemetry, no analytics, no crash reporting, and no account system on my side.

1. Data the app handles

Your Claude sign-in. Quota uses the sign-in that Claude Code (Anthropic's official app) keeps in the macOS Keychain on your Mac. When you click Sign in with Claude, Quota opens Claude Code's own login in your browser. When the sign-in expires, Quota asks Claude Code to renew it, which sends one very small request to Claude on your account. The sign-in is sent to exactly one destination: Anthropic's own API, over HTTPS.

API keys you add (optional). If you add an OpenRouter key, DataForSEO login or Firecrawl key in Settings, they are stored in the macOS Keychain on your Mac and sent only to that provider, over HTTPS, to read your remaining balance or credits.

Usage figures and balances. The percentages, reset times and balances shown in the widget come from those providers. The last reading and about three hours of history are kept in a small file on your Mac, so the widget can show rings instantly at launch and calculate the forecast. That file never leaves your Mac.

2. Every connection the app makes

api.anthropic.com - your Claude usage limits, with your sign-in.
status.claude.com - Claude's public status page, to show the incident band. No personal data.
openrouter.ai, api.dataforseo.com and api.firecrawl.dev - only if you added their keys, to read your balance or credits.
quotawidget.com - the update check (see section 4).
Claude Code's login and renewal - run by Claude Code itself, under Anthropic's own terms.

That is the complete list. There is no analytics or crash-reporting service in the app.

3. Data I receive

None from the app. If you email me, I receive your email. If you buy Quota, the payment provider processes the payment as merchant of record and shares with me what is needed to fulfil the order, such as your email address. The provider's own privacy policy is linked at checkout and on your receipt.

4. Updates

The app checks a static file on quotawidget.com to discover new versions (a standard Sparkle appcast). The request carries the app's version and no personal data, and it is not logged in a way that identifies you.

5. Your rights

Since I hold no data about your app usage, there is nothing to export or delete on my side. Purchase data held by the payment provider can be requested or erased through the provider or by emailing support@quotawidget.com. Removing Quota and its Keychain entries (service "Quota API keys") deletes everything the app stored.
